Abstract

This paper describes three practical implementations of traffic telematics in urban and regional environments, namely the German applications of Cologne, Munich and Bavaria. For each of the applications the general system architecture is described and some site-specific pecularities are outlined. These are the approach to environmental control and the new UTC model MOTION in Cologne, the strategic control and the tools for traffic modelling in Munich, and the approach to personal trip assistance in the Bavarian project.
