The General Motora Proving Ground has developed and tested adriverretrnining program to teach drieere defensive drivingtechniques Yor accidnt avoidance. Approximately 150 I'rovingGround employee have succesYully completed the fi-hour trainingeourse, conaieting of vlasaroom and behindrthe-wheel inatruc-tion. Thia paper includea a diacusaion of both the subjectmaterial and the teaching methode uaed by PG driving inatruc-tors. The driver-retraining courae is referred to as theProving Ground .ldvanced Driver Training Courae.
