Abstract

TRB’s Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, No. 2145 contains 13 papers that explore a direct ridership model of bus rapid transit; bus network planning for transfers; citywide bus network restructuring; developing a bus rapid transit strategic plan; select bus service on Bx12 in New York, New York; a coordinated and conditional bus priority approach; and a method for determining bus route passenger origin-destination flows. This issue of the record also examines space requirements for wheeled mobility devices in public transportation, driving behavior of public transportation occupational drivers, influence of basic rural paratransit characteristics on organizational culture, an information management system for public and specialized transportation providers, classifying rural and small urban transit agencies, and rural intercity transportation service demand in a changing environment.
