Abstract

TRB’s Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board 1841 includes an assessment of urban bus needs in Illinois; recommendations for consolidating single-county rural public transportation systems into regional multicounty transit systems in North Carolina; an evaluation of a web-based software program that assists New Mexico human services agencies in improving clients’ rural public transportation options; and statewide coordination of van transportation offered by social service agencies for the elderly, people with mental illness, or those in poverty and looking for work. The papers contained in this volume were among those presented at the 82nd Annual Meeting of the Transportation Research Board in January 2003.
