Abstract

TRB’s Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board 1838 provides the customer’s perspective on potential designs for multilevel coaches in New Jersey Transit commuter trains; examines the visual delineation of the outline of the dynamic envelope occupied by light rail transit cars or trains traveling along or across roadways and walkways; describes a three-stage effort to reallocate empty personal rapid transit vehicles to reduce average waiting times; and discusses a new approach to effective and sustainable urban transport with personal rapid transit. The papers contained in this volume were among those presented at the 82nd Annual Meeting of the Transportation Research Board in January 2003. For abstracts of some of the papers see C 32952 - C 32961.
