Abstract

Different factors influence the quantity of freight transport economic growth, technology, infrastructure, organisation, etc. This paper is about methods to measure the effect on transport of such factors. Indicators for transport have been developed and used in empirical studies, improving our understanding of the processes generating transport. Results of quantitative, semi-quantitative and qualitative studies based on this methodology are given. (A)
