Abstract

Results of a questionnaire circulated to European states are presented, Provisions made for disabled people on long-distance transport services are given. Measures on: concessions and tariffs for rail travel; standardisation of a distress sign for disabled drivers; harmonisation or mutual recognition of legal requirements, like seat belt wearing exemptions for disabled car users; standardisation of wheelchair anchoring methods; and reciprocal parking arrangements and concessions for disabled motorists are discussed.
