Abstract

This paper focuses on two topics of particular interest to Swedish transportation planners: The increasing numbers of elderly car drivers and public transportation for elderly and handicapped persons. The increasing numbers of elderly drivers may have traffic safety implications in the future, although little study has been done on elderly drivers and further research is recommended in this area.
