Abstract

This paper outlines the development of the Transport Plan for Brisbane as Council’s strategic transport and traffic document including its alignment with internal, State and regional planning. Background is provided on the structure of the document leading into a discussion of the Coordinated Transport and Land Use Strategy. Actions arising from this strategy included a requirement to undertake master planning initiatives within the proposed busway corridors to achieve a higher level of land use support for transport investment. The proposed master planning exercise is also covered including a discussion of the current pilot project being undertaken within Brisbane’s Northern Corridor. The paper concludes with learning’s from the exercise to date and the expected outcomes/outputs from the planning process. (a) For the covering entry of this conference, please see ITRD abstract no.
