Abstract
The papers in this annual review highlight the work of the Overseas Centre of TRL in developing countries. The papers cover road safety, bituminous surfacings, the use of local materials, the transition from non-motorised to motorised modes of transport, the liberalisation of urban public transport services, the cost and productivity of road freight transport, bioengineering and the analysis of earth works and slope deterioration.
