Abstract

This round table contains five reports. The first by Quinet, E., studies the expansion and diversification of resources allocated to transport in france, the diversification of objectives, urban transport policy, investment to improve productivity and facilitate operation and maintenance. The second report by Blum, U., discusses the development of the transportation sector in germany, the importance of the infrastructure, the impact of investments in transportation infrastructure on production. It evaluates and interprets regional production, and describes an application of the model derived. The third report by Bjoernland, D., describes the overall investment behaviour in transport in norway, the investment for transport purposes, investment for inland transport purposes, capital formation in rail transport and the road network, location of investment in state roads, and some possible implications for the future. The fourth report by Izquierdo, R., describes the conditions in spain, the transport sector investment planning, configuration and classification of the spanish transport networks, vehicles, trends in and importance of transport investment, and investment programmes for the years to come. The french version of this report is published under the title: les investissements effectues de 1960 a 1980 dans le secteur des transports: analyse et implications pour le futur.
