Abstract

TransportXML was developed through a NorStella research project in the period from 2001/2002, as an XML based standard for electronic collaborationwithin and/or with the transport and forwarding industry. It is now used by the transport industry in Norway through the transport portal TakeCargo(www.takecargo.no). NorStella has recently been given the role as a lead partner for developing transportXML to cover the short sea-industry (www.shortseaxml.org), and hence be an European standard for intermodular transport. Based on international standards (ebXML as developed by UN/CEFACT www.uncefact.org), it is expected to be a global standard for all kind of transport and forwarding. For the covering abstract see E134653.
