The 2007 Canada Transportation Act requires the Minister of Transport to table in Parliament this comprehensive report on the state of the transportation sector every five years. The bulk of this report focuses on 2011 while offering historical retrospective. It also examines transportation from various perspectives: its impact on the economy; key factors affecting the four modes of transportation (air, marine, rail and road); the movement of dangerous goods; Canada's gateways and trade corridors; and trends and future issues.
