Abstract

Transportation needs of elderly citizens residing in medium-sized cities are studied. Basic data were collected by sampling the elderly in a city of 125.000 population. Demographic characteristics of those interviewed and the present transportation mode used were determined. Based on the findings, several recommendations are made for improving the mobility of the elderly.
