Transportation for physically handicapped persons in Czechoslovakia

Abstract

Recommendations concerning modifications of traffic areas and parking are given. Pavement and footway should have a minimal width of 120 cm. If havier traffic is expected the recommended width is 180 cm. On crossings over large highways the setting up of pedestrian islands is recommended. Pedestrian actuated signals and aural signals are also recommended. It is recommended to set apart 2% of parking places on public parkings for vehicles of disabled persons.
