Abstract

Knowledge of the distribution of traffic parameters is essential for good traffic planning. Recent developments in microcomputers, exploratory data analysis and statistical theory can aid in the investigation of these distributions. This paper discusses the incorporation of these developments into a statistical package called TRANSTAT. The application of TRANSTAT to headway, speed and parking duration data is illustrated.
