Abstract

The objective of the program is to develop data on human tolerance to impact in the automobile collision environment by comparing laboratory and field accident that results. Carefully selected accident cases from all available sources have been filtered to obtain a data bank to provide the necessary information on clinical injury and the accident severity based upon vehicle damage. Equations were derived relating injury, barrier equivalent velocity, and injury criteria.
