Abstract

The TRISS (Trauma Score, Injury Severity Score) methodology has been widely used as to compare trauma patients outcomes. A recent modification - TRISS-like analysis - allows inclusion of intubated patients. This study represents the first to apply TRISS-like analysis to a large dataset from a geographic area. It also demonstrates how the development of regional coefficients for analysis can identify outliers that may have been previously overlooked.
