The extensive and efficient travel and traffic information exchange between Transport Telematics operators and between these and end users is vital for Transport Telematics to succeed and achieve its full potential. Addressing this request, the DATEX Task Force within the ATT programme has been actively developing common/compatible solutions for travel and traffic data interchange to achieve essential interoperability. This paper reports on the activities of the DATEX Task Force on the issue, showing objectives, achievements and output produced, as well as some considerations on emerging institutional-legal and commercial aspects.
