Abstract

Travel characteristics of junior and senior high school students are analyzed. The influence of family size, auto, ownership, and school grade and sex on trip rates, mode effects of trip purpose on frequency and mode choice. Results indicate that (1) trip rates are affected by grade, sex and auto ownership; (2) lack of available transportation is the major reason that desired trips are not made.
