Abstract

This report concludes the analysis of an origin-destination survey carried out at cordon points around the three main towns of Malawi during October 1974 in co-operation with the transport statistics unit of Malawi. The report contains some detailed observations on the travel characteristics of road users in Malawi and it also presents the results of research into the prediction of trip movements between rural areas of Malawi and the two main cities of Blantyre and Lilongwe.
