Abstract

TRB’s Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, No. 2246 consists of 15 papers that explore calibration strategies to correct nonresponse in a national travel survey, coordination of investments in infrastructure asset management, global positioning system–assisted prompted recall household travel survey, collecting data and modeling travel related to special events, comparison of global positioning system and diary records, stated-choice survey designs with reduced prior information, and postprocessing procedures for person-based global positioning system data. This issue of the TRR also examines a strategic-tactical stated-choice survey methodology, estimation of transit bus route passenger origin–destination flow, improvements in regional household travel surveys, analysis of freight global positioning system data, a web-based truck performance measures program, spot speed data from global positioning systems for estimating truck travel speed, data collection methodology for container truck traffic in inland port cities, and online data repository for statewide freight planning and analysis.
