Abstract

As one of the methods of improving material distribution efficiency using the information communication technology, the Automated Vehicle Location system (AVL) that improves the vehicle operation management function is available for freight forwarders by checking the locations of their freight vehicles. Travel time information in on-trip and pre-trip is one of the information most desired by general road users. Travel time information can be provided to general road users by processing and accumulating position information data of freight vehicles obtained from AVL. This paper previews the database for collecting data using AVL and the precision verification experiments of measured travel time.
