Abstract

Travel time is a concept widely used and often synonymous with the need of travellers for information, new technological systems and real-time journeys. Travel times have, however, been used for years by public transport authorities in connection with schedules, transport analyses and long-termtrends. This presentation will focus on the information need from different points of view and on how the Swedish Road Administation (SRA) from this perspective has created a generic solution enabling a multi-purpose system. Examples of these purposes are presented to show how they can be used to achieve win-win situations. For the covering abstract see E134653.
