Abstract

Footpaths still surround each block, but seldom provide an uninterrupted crossing from one side to the other, so that the continuity of the footpath is limited to the circumference of each block. One of the examples of exceptions on this is Stevenage. The layout of this town and the way in which the traffic engineering is done are outlined.
