Abstract

This paper examines and evaluates the Travelwise programme established by the North Shore City Council, and subsequently developed within the Auckland region, and nationally through participation in the Travel Behaviour Change (TBhC) strategy and programme. The wider TBhC programme encompasses all changes in travel behaviour for every sector of society, of which school travel is but one, albeit important, component. However, there were some clear lessons learnt during the development of the Travelwise to School programme that are applicable to other sectors. This paper shares those lessons; hopefully to assist other Travel Behaviour Change programmes achieve greater success. (a) For the covering entry of this conference, please see ITRD abstract no.
