Abstract

This paper presents the issues discussed a Human Factor TRB workshop: "Driver model: design, integration, applications". It first describes the workshop along with the speakers' contribution. Then a synthesis is presented of the (Author/publisher) models. Finally, it is suggested moving the concept of driver models to the one of comprehensive model of driving, where the idea is bringing together research working on specific aspects of driver models to work together for developing a tool that can be used by a wider public and therefore include other elements in their simulation framework, such as the vehicle and the infrastructure.
