Abstract

Pedestrian accident patterns and the contribution of pedestrian accidents to increase in severity, which occurred since 1967 in Israel, have been studied in detail It has been shown that the increased severity of pedestrian accidents is the main contributor to the overall increase in severity. Further details of the distribution of pedestrian accidents on urban and interurban roads, during daytime and night, and by the various types of vehicles involved, are also described.
