Abstract

Most of the logistics related companies are usually small/medium sized employing less than 50 employees and using owner operators. Because of these small sized and financially weak nature of the logistic companies in the Republic of Korea, the usage levels of information technologies which is very useful for both drivers and company operators in terms of efficient operation of the industry are well behind compared with other industries such as airlines and shipping lines. In this paper, are explored the characteristics of perceptions of the logistics related companies in Korea on information technologies such as EDI (electronic data interchange), WIN (network for Windows) and ITS-CVO (commercial vehicle operations), which is underway at nation-wide scale. Also, the behaviour logit model for joint logistics development ideas, which enable small and medium sized companies to compete with well-established companies is discussed.
