Abstract

The subject of the research `A visit to trends' is the influence of social-cultural trends on the development of social traffic. Because of the size, the research is limited to the influence of the trends on the labour market and the influence of that on social traffic. Visiting friends and family is accounted to social traffic in this research. Result of the research is that trends with strong individualistic marks (emancipation and dualism) can lead to a strong growth of social traffic because of the growth of the distance that people make to visit friends. On the other hand can the sustainable trend cause a decrease of social traffic. It is important that the Dutch government pays more attention to social traffic because of the possible growth. (A)
