Abstract

This final report for the calspan tri-level accident study includes the data collection period from January 1, 1975 to October 31, 1975. Emphasis in this program was placed on data collection. A unique aspect of this program is that, from its inception late in 1969, supplementary medical reports have been collected for injured occupants in all applicable police reported accidents. Four research reports also are presented in this report: (1) data presentation: comparison of restraint use and injuries among male and female drivers in automobile frontal impacts; (2) the crash environment; (3) a comparison of results obtained with different analytical techniques for reconstruction of highway accidents; (4) testing crash as part of a data processing system.
