Abstract

A study is reported on the incidence and treatment of trochanteric fractures of the femur, especially those resulting from traffic accidents (50% of the adult and 80% of the child group in this study). The incidence of this injury in children is of special interest. Regarding the treatment of trochanteric fractures, it is reported that the number of experiments is too small to give definite conclusions but that more will be done in the future.
