Abstract

115 truck accidents with trucks larger than 3.5 ton were analysed. The accident frequency and causes, the patterns of injuries and the kinematics of the injured passengers of the trucks and cars are presented. The influence of the collision speed, the vehicle's deformation and the mass ratio of the colliding vehicles on the degree of injury of the occupants is shown.
