A national truck parking system for the German Autobahn is currently not yet on the political agenda or the expert discussions. However, it is foreseeable that an intelligent solution to the current capacity problem wouldcontain most likely elements of a car-park routing system. At present, the responsible administration is already working on a strategy for dealing with the parking shortage intelligently through the use of telematics. Thefollowing article is intended to provide a contribution by introducing the instrument "truck-park management system", with which the medium sized cities, large towns and cities already have the best experiences, into the context of truck park site capacity management on motorways. Some important requirements for the system design will be described in detail.
