Abstract

A first attempt was made in this study to evaluate the measured truck accelerations in relation to a severity- index concept, after which the concept is used to investigate automobile roadside traversals and rigid barrier collisions. The prediction on probability and severity of injuries to an unrestrained occupant were presented, in relation to vehicle speed.
