Abstract
The Calspan Tire Research Facility (TIRF) as a laboratory apparatus for testing truck tires is described and typical truck tire test result are presented. Test results are shown for a combined lateral slip and longitudinal slip operations of a truck tire on a dry road surface. Wet road cornering and braking characteristics of three different truck tires measured at TIRF show significant differences.
