Twenty years of automotive safety research at McGill University.

Abstract

A short review is presented at the activities in automotive research at the McGill University during 1970- 1988. Specifications were given for vehicle safety standards, concrete barriers, breakaway posts, steering column etc. It was found that the majority of accidents was caused by human factors. Special attention was paid to the use and non use of restraint systems.
