Abstract

The report deals with traffic accident statistics on the way to and from work in 1975-1977. The number of these accidents is about 20.000 annually. In the last few years close on 100 people have been killed on such journeys. Accidents happen mostly (80%) to cyclists and pedestrians, slipping and stumbling being the most common types of accidents. Monday is the most fatal day of the week and the number of accidents in the morning hours is greater than in the evening.
