Abstract

Typical NS - Each station plays its own part Dutch Railways (NS) are very involved in enhancing the total train journey, from door-to-door. To make better decisions whether facilities should be improved and make the customers more happy, NS has introduced six types of stations. These six station types are thoroughly discussed in this paper. All stations are assigned to one of the types based on quantitative and qualitative features. The types show the accessibility of the different stations in the network as well in the catchment area of each station. This combination tells which kind of access- and egress modes have to be improved. A special station type is number 3, which plays an important role in creating a network between the cities in the Deltametropool. These are also the types of station where synergy between nodes and places can be realised. (Author/publisher)
