Abstract

To make road environment safer, more efficient, and more convenient, it is necessary to integrate advancement of vehicle, road, and telecommunication. Seven companies cooperated and started R&D project named Ubiquitous ITS last year funded by NICT, National Institute of Information and Communications Technology. The project is a three-year-project and consists of three themes that are the study of vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-roadsidecommunications, the study of telematics, and the study of distributing road traffic information via digital terrestrial broadcasting.
