Abstract
Now public participation on the Transportation Structure Scheme (SVV) has resulted in a voluminous report. The author analyses the contents of the reactions and classifies the participation. The author states that there are less positive than negative comments on the car system and it is remarkable that there is almost no criticism as far as public transport is concerned. The alternatives offered in the SVV do not differ from each other sufficiently, which leads to the conclusion that public participation has not been fruitful. This should be borne in mind when constipating an new SVV, which has to be completed within about four years.
