Abstract

This contribution describes the company transport plan of Pfizer in Kent, UK. The scheme is benchmarked to 9 other schemes. Commuter management strategies are designed to create 'win-win' scenarios for both the company and its personnel. Each transport plan is distinctive and is the result of very specific local geography. Examples of locations where travel plans are inappropriate are provided. The recruitment and retention of valuable staff should not be compromised. The advantages of company workplace plans are described with reference to all the schemes studied. High levels of dissatisfaction with UK public transport were found. School travel plans and teleworking are discussed. For the covering abstract see ITRD E116128.
