A UK view on road safety.

Abstract

The conduct of road safety in the UK and the trends and activities in recent years are reviewed. The potential for savings in accidents from application of established, safety measures, and the factors contributing to accidents are examined as a basis for deciding the major issues to be addressed over the next ten years. The aim is an overall reduction of between one- sixth and one- third in the national accident toll in the decade.
