Abstract

A simplified model is developed for calculating maximum forces and deceleration for vehicles and second phase of the contact (i.e. front and rear side) under the assumption of neglecting deformations in vehicle and barrier. Graphs are presented for variations in parameters such as contact angle, speed, kinetic energy and acceleration forces.
