Abstract

Approximately 16 miles of test stripes was placed as part of a reflectorized double yellow line. One strip represented the control and was consistent throughout the test section; the other stripe varied. The increase in highway death rate for rural 2-lane highways in comparison with other systems and the very high rate for night driving on those highways are reported.
