Abstract

This article reports on some of the findings of an empirical study of criminal charges brought in cases of fatal road traffic collisions. The findings relating to prosecutorial decision-making in such cases are discussed against the background of the new statutory charging scheme introduced by the Criminal Justice Act 2003.
