Abstract

This paper presents the origin, development and results obtained by the "Small Group on VMS", constituted by France, Netherlands, Germany and Spain. The main goal of this group has been to present a feasible updating of the current 1968/1995 Vienna Convention contents, specifically those concerning Variable Message Signs: non-existing or inadequate pictograms that are required by Traffic Information Centre operators, message composition principles, and the like. The period 2003-2006 has brought a brief but concise text that is intended for a closer consideration by the rest of UNECE-WP1 participants. For the covering abstract see E134653.
