Abstract
For evaluating the quality and mounting of seats in lorries and buses test specifications are used which were developed for passenger cars. The object of the study was to determine the actual loading of the seats in accidents which the occupants survived. Results showed that non-restrained occupants who collide with the front seat cause an additional stress on this seat. The results of the study led to a proposal for adapting the test conditions.
