Abstract
The Bundesaustalt fur Strassenwesen (BAST) conducted research into possibility of mixing various commercial brands of marking glass beads with solvent containing marking paints. The laboratory and field tests are described and the results are given. Standard beads of various makes were found to have the same chemical and physical properties and could resist chemical treatment. As a result technical definitions for supply and inspection of marking glass beads were drafted.
