Abstract

Optimum locations for wearer comfort of the upper anchorage point of a three-point seat belt are determined experimentally. Two experiments were carried out, the first in a simulated car in, the laboratory and the second in four cars of different designs. The results of these experiments are compared with the allowable areas for attachment of the upper anchorage of present Bri.tish, American, and Australian standards.
